Our Friend & Seller Julie Goodall is Fundraising!

September 29, 2017

[lead]Today’s blog post is a really important one. We want to help our good friend and valued seller Julie Goodall on her fundraising journey for the Brain Tumour Charity.[/lead]

Julie was diagnosed with an Epidermoid brain tumour back in March of 2016. She suffered little impact from it up until April this year, when things took a turn for the worst. Unfortunately, Julie has been faced with various progressive symptoms that have really had an effect on her day-to-day life. However, she’s a fighter and she’s not backing down.

The Twilight Walk

Julie will be walking the Brain Tumour Charity Twilight Walk on the 1st October in Chester – that’s this coming Sunday! By doing this sponsored walk, Julie hopes to raise money for the charity which has supported her through this daunting but incredibly courageous journey.

Julie Goodall: “I am doing the Brain Tumor Charity Twilight Walk for the Brain Tumour Charity because I want to fight back at the tumor in my head.”

There is a Just Giving page created by Julie, which aims to raise as much money as possible for the sponsored walk. So far, supporters have raised an incredible £1080.00. This is way over the £250 target! It’s amazing what people can do when we just give a little bit. Here at Caraman Friend, we’ve decided to make a donation of £100. If you decide to follow in our footsteps and donate even a fraction of that, we’re sure Julie will be eternally grateful. There’s still time to donate to Julie’s page, which you can access here.

What is the Brain Tumour Charity?

The Brain Tumour Charity was established in 1996 and has since fought to defeat brain tumours through research, support and creating awareness. The charity strives to improve the quality of life for people with brain tumours, and are at the forefront of the fight against them. Check out their website here for more information.

What else is going on?

There isn’t just the Chester walk! The Brain Tumour Charity is also holding two other twilight walks in Windsor and Warwick. There will also be plenty of other fundraising events in the future. So keep those eyes peeled if you want to get involved! For amazing people like Julie, everyone getting involved really will make all the difference.
